The Universal Service Fund (USF) should be used properly in order to develop connectivity in rural areas and benefit of telecom sector, said PM Raja Pervez Ashraf, while leading a meeting of Board of Director of Universal Service Fund in Islamabad.
The USF has shown a good performance in extending connectivity in far-flung areas of Balochistan, in an effort to bring them to an equal level to other developed areas of the country. PM praised the efforts of USF. The meeting was informed that USF has made terrific development in last 5 years.
USF has provided basic telephony and data services in more than 3600 ‘muzas’ . It has also supplied broadband services260 cities and towns.
To connect un-served Tehsils and towns over 4250 kilometers of optic fiber cable has also been placed. Read More
