Air Commodore (retd) Mohammad Mahmood Alam, who passed away due to prolonged illness in Karachi on 18th March 2013, is given a special homage by Ufone telecom.The cellular operator has published a tribute to the hero MM Alam. He was famous for piloting an F-86 Sabre
fighter, shot downed two three Indian war planes during the 1965
conflict with India at Sargodha.
He was awarded Sitara-I-Jur’at twice for such heroism and the government of
