Altaf Hussain, the leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), while addressing to the workers of his party at Nine Zero yesterday said that the
establishment doesn’t like the mandate of his party, it should separate
Karachi from the rest of the country. He said that dispatch Karachi from
Pakistan if you dislike its people’s mandate, added that they they were
playing with fire and this fire would burn down the entire Pakistan.
His statement was criticized by Jamat-e-Islami leader (JI), Dr Mairajul Huda, Sunday night. He demands that the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and Chief of the Army Staff, Ashfaq Parvez Kayani should take immediate notice Hussain’s daring the establishment to separate Karachi from the rest of Pakistan.
JI (Sindh) Ameer said that he appeal to Chief Justice of Pakistan and Chief of the Army Staff to severely respond to the MQM leader’s separatist statement and his threats of airing the politics of violence in particular and his whole speech in general.
He was of the view that the speech of Altaf could have awfully damaging consequences, adding God forbid, if a calamity occurred in Karachi down the line only he alone would be to blame.
