Microsoft to launch Surface Mini Tablet:Nokia Sirius
Tablet to be released on Sep 26.Microsoft is to launch the Surface Mini Tablet, said the company’s expert Paul
Thurrott at WinSuperSite. He said that the company will launch the smaller
version of Surface tablet which will sport 8-inch screen. Microsoft has not declared the full specifications of Surface Mini Tablet,
but it is likely to have a ARM-based Qualcomm Snapdragon chip and will run
Windows 8.1 RT operating system. The device is expected to be released this
year after the release of new Surface 2
and Surface Pro 2.
It is worth mentioning here that Nokia is also going to launch 'Sirius', the Finnish phone maker's first tablet. The new Nokia Sirius ( model number MSM8974) will have a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset running Windows 8.1 RT. According to Thurrott the Nokia Sirius will be powered by a four-core Snapdragon 800 chipset, using Krait 400 CPU, clocking at frequency of 2.3GHz along with Adreno 330 GPU. Sirius will sport a 10.1-inch HD 1080P IPS LCD screen with rear 6.7 million pixel Carl Zeiss lens.It will also have support for LTE connectivity.
The Nokia Sirius are 9 mm in thickness and weight 600 grams. Its price will
be $499, which for a device running Windows RT is quite a steep price. It is
also expected that Nokia will release the Sirius tablet alongside Nokia Lumia
