Seán Moynihan, CEO of Alone, says more established individuals living alone frequently have limited social interaction with the outside world and are at danger of taking less work out, regularly leading to sick health including dejection.

"Just under 33% of more established individuals live all alone and that number will keep on climbing," said Mr Moynihan. "Depression has become an interminable situation and is affecting more established individuals' prosperity."

Research carried out by The Irish Longitudinal Study on Aging (Tilda) in 2014 discovered mothers of kids who had moved abroad as of late had encountered an increase in depressive symptoms and emotions of forlornness.
