England bans smoking in cars with youngsters . Drivers in England will be banned from smoking in their cars on the off chance that they are carrying youngsters as passengers.

The move, which will become law on 1 October, takes after a similar ban in Wales and aims to shield youngsters under 18 from second-hand smoke. Scotland is also considering presenting a ban.

Anyone discovered ridiculing the law in England could be fined £50.
