US: $28 Million bitcoins seized from Silk Road Server
US: $28 Million bitcoins seized from Silk Road Server. A large number of bitcoins worth $28 million have been seized by the US. These bitcoins were taken into custody from the black website Silk Road’s server and transferred to the US government several months after it was seized. The reports said that the US government claimed that this currency was used to facilitate money laundering. This action came just a day after the when a Manhattan judge approved the penalty of the bitcoins and the website.
The move also comes three months after San Francisco entrepreneur Ross Ulbricht was arrested on charges he operated an online marketplace for illegal drugs.
