Prime Minister of Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf has
declared the names of Interim PM. On Thursday , PM suggested the names in the
National Assembly to the opposition leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.The government has
just two days left to depart and the place will be filled by caretaker PM. The proposed names by PM
Ashraf include Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Dr Ishrat Hussain and Justice (r) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso.
PM regarded the three as ‘persons of known standing,
integrity and competence’ in his letter which he sent to opposition leader Chaudhry
Nisar Ali Khan.
On the other hand the opposition party PML-N has already proposed names for caretaker PM that include Justice (r) Shakirullah Jan, Justice (r) Nasir Aslam Zahid and Rasool Bux Palejo.
The tenure of the present assembly will end on 16th March and the just two days are left to decide the name of the caretaker PM by the government and the opposition.If they fail to decide on interim PM the matter will go to the parliamentary committee which would have three days to decide the issue.In the case of parliamentary committee’s failure to decide the name of interim PM, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is the final authority to decide the name in two days.
