Samsung Xpress C460 Series NFC Printing Awarded Achievement in Innovation from Buyer’s Lab

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that its Near Field Communication (NFC) enabled A4 Color laser Xpress C460FW series has been awarded the Buyers Laboratory (BLI) Outstanding Achievement in Innovation. The A4 Color laser Xpress C460FW series launched in July 2013 has been recognized for its use of NFC technology to simplify mobile print, scan and fax capabilities.
"This achievement demonstrates Samsung’s leadership in mobile printing and we expect more people to benefit from the convenience of NFC printing in future. Not only is the Samsung Xpress C460FW series a world first but it has now been officially recognized for its innovation for its use of NFC technology." said Joosang Eun, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Samsung Electronics.

As one of the leaders within the mobile industry, Samsung is always on the lookout for new user trends to better address customer needs, whether at home, at the office, or on the move. One of the most significant developments in the past decade has been the overwhelming market acceptance of smart mobile devices and connected life and work styles, and Samsung has been at the forefront of that development with new devices, solutions and services.
Samsung is committed to developing products that enable people to interact with technology in new ways. When the GALAXY Tab released in 2009, Samsung offered a number of mobile printing solutions through its Samsung Mobile Print App, Wi-Fi Direct and a Native Photo Print Button. From here, Samsung continued to learn from consumer feedback and designed the first color laser printer and MFPs in the industry to use NFC technology.
BLI Associate Editor Dan DiGiacomo said, "With Samsung's use of NFC technology in these new printers, mobile printing couldn't be easier. While NFC technology has existed for some time, its implementation in an output device and its seamless integration with Samsung Mobile Print is particularly noteworthy. NFC makes mobile workers more productive by mitigating the difficulty of device discovery and reducing the time it takes to print and scan from a mobile device. The ability to send a print job, scan a document or send a fax with a simple tap of a smart phone on an MFP is incredibly convenient. Additionally, it eliminates the need for IT staff to set up guest access to MFPs and printers that my not reside on an accessible Wi-Fi network.”
Samsung plans to roll out printers with mobile connectivity for the https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=5194203891388012712#editor/target=post;postID=2226794609966216988office environment in the first quarter of 2014. NFC enabled mono laser printers will be released in Europe in September.

About BLI’s Picks
Twice a year with its “Pick” awards, BLI gives special recognition in each category to those products that provided the most outstanding performances in BLI’s exhaustive lab tests. Its “Outstanding Achievement” awards acknowledge products or capabilities that stand out for attributes such as innovation, usefulness, energy efficiency or value. BLI’s awards stand alone in that they are based on a rigorous battery of lab tests that takes approximately two months to complete. The evaluation includes an extensive durability test, during a portion of which each unit is run at the manufacturer's maximum duty cycle. BLI’s durability test is unique among office product evaluations and uniquely qualifies BLI to assess reliability, a critical factor for buyers and IT directors. Other performance attributes evaluated include ease of use, media handling, productivity and value, among others. Each product that successfully passes BLI’s lab test earns BLI’s “Recommended” or “Highly Recommended” seal and a BLI “Certificate of Reliability” and the best performers qualify as “Pick” award contenders. Consequently, BLI “Pick” awards are hard-earned awards that buyers and IT directors can trust to better guide them in their acquisition decisions.
