Samsung Electronics Announces Fourth Quarter & FY 2013 Results
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced revenues of 59.28 trillion Korean won on a consolidated basis for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2013, which is an increase of 0.3 percent quarter-on-quarter. For the quarter, the company posted consolidated operating profits of 8.31 trillion won, representing an 18-percent decline Q-o-Q. Consolidated net profit for the quarter was 7.30 trillion won.
 In its earnings guidance disclosed on January 7, Samsung estimated fourth quarter consolidated revenues would reach approximately 59 trillion won with consolidated operating profit of approximately 8.3 trillion won.
The fourth quarter results brought Samsung’s full year 2013 revenue to an all-time high of 228.69 trillion won, up 14 percent from the previous year. Year-end net income registered 30.47 trillion won and Samsung netted 36.79 trillion won in operating profit, a 27-percent on-year increase.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced its earnings guidance for the fourth quarter of 2013.  Consolidated sales:  Approximately 59.0 trillion Korean won (Range: 58 – 60 trillion Korean won) Consolidated operating profit: Approximately 8.3 trillion Korean won  (Range: 8.1 – 8.5 trillion Korean won)

At CES 2014, Samsung Electronics to Introduce Innovative B2B Display Solutions
Samsung Electronics will introduce a host of new commercial large format displays (LFDs) this week at 2014 International CES in Las Vegas. The company will display a variety of innovative LFD solutions for hotels, businesses and retailers that are designed to present visually stunning and differentiated experiences to customers. 
To demonstrate the benefits of its displays in each of these settings, the Samsung booth at CES will feature various virtual environments intended to replicate a state-of-the-art “paradise of hotels,” including a lobby video wall, new hotel TV solution and display solutions for business centers – with Samsung’s ‘Interactive White Board’ and the world’s largest 95-inch LED LFD.

Samsung Xpress C460 Series NFC Printing Awarded Achievement in Innovation from Buyer’s Lab

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that its Near Field Communication (NFC) enabled A4 Color laser Xpress C460FW series has been awarded the Buyers Laboratory (BLI) Outstanding Achievement in Innovation. The A4 Color laser Xpress C460FW series launched in July 2013 has been recognized for its use of NFC technology to simplify mobile print, scan and fax capabilities.

Facebook plans to deploy affordable internet to undeserved Communities



Facebook has a plan to deploy the more affordable internet access to the undeserved communities. In this regard Mark Zuckerberg, the Chief of Facebook, signed a project, to make internet more affordable, with Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics and four other companies including Ericsson, MediaTek, Nokia and Opera Software ASA.
The project called ‘Internet.org’ will bring the access of the more affordable internet to the people around the world who can't afford it.
