Mahgul for Nasreen Shaikh introduced bespoke jeansline



Following the brand’sretail launch with 'The Archive Collection' earlier this summer, the team at Mahgul for Nasreen Shaikhnow introduce a brand new line of bespoke jeans. This new line allows patrons tocustomise their jeans within a diversity of options such as  incorporating personalized text on their jeans and applique photographs intertwined with handwork. The line of bespoke jeans are custom made using micro stretch denim and are currently available in three colors; olive, black and white. With Mahgul for Nasreen Shaikh, the couturier introduces a new generation of talent through her granddaughter Mahgul Rashid, as the new pret a porter line’s creative director. Mahgul, a fine artist having worked with Rashid Rana, has been apprenticing with Nasreen Shaikh for the better part of 6 years and this new eponymous brand, Mahgul for Nasreen Shaikh, encapsulates Mahgul’s contemporary aesthetic of promoting modern simplicity, within an accessible ready to wear label.

Mahgul for Nasreen Shaikh’s first retail collection as showcased at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week is titled ‘The Archive Collection’, where the designer has found inspiration in old photographs from the Civil and Military Gazette to create pieces that attempt to re-invent a traditional aesthetic sensibility in a more modern context. The label is now available in Pakistan at the PFDC, Ensemble and L'atelier in Lahore, Labels and Ensemble in Karachi and at L'atelier Islamabad.
