Microsoft’s Xbox Music app to hit Android and iOS devices



Microsoft has formally released the Xbox Music app for Android and iOS mobile devices. Microsoft has launched this service along with the launch of a web version that allows users of Xbox Music Pass stream music via the service for free. It includes music from a collection of over 30 million tracks. You can discover new songs, albums, and artists right from your smartphone. The users with an Xbox Music Pass can access the catalog's 30 million songs through their iOS or Android mobile phones and create an unlimited number of playlists through the new Web portal at music.xbox.com.
Microsoft is also offering unlimited web streaming service absolutely free for the period of six months.  The company also declared that they would bring offline mode to Android and iOS in the coming months.
Xbox Music requires Xbox Music Pass the costs $9.99 per-month or $99.99/ year with one-month trial. It is available in 22 countries, but not available in India yet.

Jerry Johnson, general manager of Xbox Music, said,

"Xbox Music now, more than ever, powers music experiences between Windows 8, Xbox, Windows Phone, and now iOS, Android and the Web.We're also excited to connect artists with their fans on the most anticipated consumer product of the year when Xbox One launches Nov. 22."

The company has also disclosed its plans for the future, saying it will add Radio to the free Web player in the coming months and will introduce a Web Playlist tool for Xbox Music on Windows 8 on 17th October with the arrival of Windows 8.1.
In addition to it, Microsoft will start rolling out the updates for iOS and Android platforms in coming months, with an offline mode that would allow users to save music to their device for playback without an Internet or data connection.
