Kiran Fine Jewellery opens a boutique flagship store in Karachi
Coveted
jewellery designer and entrepreneur Kiran Aman launched a standalone flagship
boutique for her eponymous jewellery brand Kiran Fine Jewellery at Ocean Mall,
Clifton, Karachi on 03rd February 2014. Alongside the brand’s signature textured
gold collections and pieces, the new KFJ boutique further showcases the ‘So
KFJ’ line, known for its classic signature style with textured and beaten gold
in 22-23K gold and the ‘Kino’ line. The name Kino translates into the word
cinema in most languages. Indeed the concept of cinema, in its original form,
means motion and movement - a character trait reflected in the brand Kino.
Taking from growth and metamorphosis Kino will serve as a platform to launch
aspiring jewellery designers and artists’ work which will be completely different
from a goldsmith’s design.

Designer Sana Salman ushers in the New Year with ‘Gold Dust’
After the launch of the
label’s fall collection ‘Falak’, a Karachi based designer Sana Salman launches
a new range of winter formals under the name ‘Gold Dust’. The new collection is
currently available through custom order at the Sana Salman Studio located at Tipu
Sultan Road, 70/71 Alhamra Society in Karachi and will soon be available for
online order through the multi-label store Brand Central.
For ‘Gold Dust’, the
designer drew inspiration from vintage embellishments and the delicate
gold work which was prevalent in Europe during the 16thand 17thcenturies.
In a departure from the traditional design approach, the label initiated the
collection by first working on its embellishments, which were meticulously
crafted through contemporary design practices and stitch work techniques.The
finalized embellishments were followed by the selection of prints and fabrics
which are based in dynamic shades of golds and blues and features modern and
sleek cuts with jackets, stylish jumpsuits,belted dresses and sequined outfits.

APTMA Int. Trade Event-Textiles Show
The main
objective of APTMA Int. Trade Event is to give a preview of the
initiatives that the All Pakistan Textiles Mills Association is taking
abroad. They will be showcasing a seties of events that will take place
in the leading markets of the world.. these places include New York,
Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai and other major textiles hubs. APTMA collective
goal is to sell Pakistan as a dependable textiles supply source by
taking Pakistani textiles products to them.
The
event started off with Chairman's address and proceeded with the
display of a documentary video which has been created solely to promote
Pakistan. The five minute documentary that was screened had been fully
funded by the APTMA for the purpose of enlightening the world on what
Pakistan is really like. The screening was followed by speeches of
Governor Punjab, Finance Minister and APTMA's members.

Umaima Mustafa introduces eponymous retail brand with the launch of her first Karachi outlet. After showcasing her debut capsule collection at the TDAP Expo Fashion Show 2013 in October, Umaima Mustafa launched her brand formally, through a standalone retail outlet in Karachi’s Old Clifton, on Saturday 14th December 2013. The new store introduced the Umaima Mustafa designer label to the Pakistani retail fashion market and primarily consists of western wear, inspired prêt-à-porter and formal wear.
Umaima Mustafa’s first in-store collection is
an extension of the capsule collection which she showcased earlier this year at
the TDAP Expo Fashion show and includes fusion luxury pret, with select pieces
from the label’s couture collection. The line also includes a mix of ready to
wear outfits including everyday tunics, luxury pret dinner wear, ball gowns
featuring digital prints, chromatic overalls and jumpsuits. The line also
features vibrant shades of golds, blacks and beiges with a fun and edgy aesthetic
focusing on layering, thus ensuring versatility for patrons who can combine
differed pieces to create a unique style.
On the launch of her brand and store, entrepreneur
and designer Umaima Mustafa said
“I have always had a keen interest in fashion and have followed my mother Farnaz Mustafa’s work in the field. I have taken her experience and combined it with a meticulous attention to detail and my own signature aesthetic to create a new dynamic brand that primarily focuses on western wear. Through this new label, I endeavor to create fashion that is easy to wear and understand, appropriate for a diversity of age groups and flattering to the female silhouette.”
Umaima Mustafa’s boutique is situated in F-20 Block 4 Clifton, near the Mohatta Palace
