McQueen, the former student of Goldsmith, has bagged a Golden Globe
award last night for her film 12 Years A Slave. The Golden Globe Awards
ceremony was held at Beverley Hills, included much entertainment and glamor.
McQueen, who studied Fine Art at the New Cross university, made the film 12 years A Slave based on the true story of New Yorker Solomon Northup pre-civil war slavery as an adult.
It won just one award out of seven nominations.
