Mobilink extends strategic partnership with Opera

Mobilink, as part of VimpelCom and Opera Software have signed an agreement to extend their partnership as a means to enhance the Mobilink customers’ experience of using the country’s fastest mobile internet. The agreement aims to extend the Opera Software services in VimpelCom operations across the globe.

Mobilink customers through this exclusive partnership will enjoy the fastest mobile internet browsing experience as Opera compresses the data by up to 80%. The extended strategic partnership will offer Mobilink mobile internet customers with a complete internet engagement by offering them with free Facebook Zero, Twitter, Wikipedia, Mobimusic & espncricinfo browsing.

Mobilink expands the largest footprint of Biometric Verification System across Pakistan

Mobilink has established the largest Biometric Verification System (BVS) for sale of SIMs at 480 locations in 243 cities across Pakistan. The expansion of implementation of the BVS is in line with the guidelines of the PTA to ensure transparency and accuracy in the sale of SIMs. In this process a total of 409 franchisees, 40 Customer Care Centers and 31 Business Connect Centers have been equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software to support the biometric verification process.

Mobilink successfully installed the BVS system at more the 400 locations in Pakistan within the deadline of December 20,^, 2013 set by the PTA. In order to ensure customer satisfaction and unparalleled adherence to the regulations set by the PTA, Mobilink has completed the training of more than 550 representatives of the Mobilink Sales Teams and Customer Care Representatives as well as Franchise Owners and Customer Support Executives across Pakistan.

Windows VIP Summit

Brought together senior leaders from Microsoft along with some of their very prominent customers of the local industry.The Windows  VIP Summit took place at the Pearl Continental Hotel in Karachi. The day-long event laid strong emphasis on Microsoft’s new “Devices and Services” strategy. Which is not to say that either of the two are new to the company. Microsoft has been producing hardware for over three decades now, its devices such as Windows Phone are now about a decade old.

“Given the breadth of our work, we believe we’re uniquely positioned to bring together the best in devices and services that result in amazing experiences for our customers – whether end users or enterprises, ” said Onur Gorur, Senior Product Marketing Manager for Middle East and Africa at Microsoft.  Windows VIP Summit was a fruitful insight into some of Microsoft’s latest products such as the Windows 8.1, Office 365 and Windows Azure. Mr Amir Rao, Country Manager Microsoft Pakistan, also shed light on how Microsoft’s newest apps and devices enable flexible working routines and foster distance learning.
